Our Story

Kraftbuilt is owned and operated by Jeff Kraft, a designer and builder in Sonoma County. With over 25 years of experience with a range of property types (homes, lofts, commercial), Jeff helps clients through the complex process of designing and building a new house or to make the most of an existing home, and closely collaborates to achieve desired results. Projects have been published in Sunset Magazine, Dwell, San Francisco Examiner Magazine, Palo Alto Weekly, Sacramento Business Journal, and the Sacramento Bee.

Jeff is a visionary designer and builder, who can seamlessly blend function with aesthetics for results that the average homeowner just can’t envision. We have used Jeff’s design/build services twice now–originally for a complete beach house transformation near Santa Cruz and recently for remodeling our 1907 Petaluma craftsman. In both cases, we were astounded at the speed with which Jeff produces detailed drawings and obtains required permits; his knowledge of local ordinances is amazing, and one benefit of his in-depth knowledge is that he is able to anticipate and address planning concerns. His span of knowledge is impressive and he recommends investing in changes that have an immediate impact. For example, he recommended a two-way gas fireplace that we initially weren’t thrilled about, but the fireplace and outdoor courtyard he envisioned was the place where guests most wanted to hang out when visiting. We could never have foreseen the impact of a two-way fireplace, but Jeff did, and we feel the investment paid for itself immediately. We strongly recommend Kraftbuilt to build or remodel your home.
